New Presidency of the OEITFL_25.05.2007

At its recent General Assembly held on 4th May in Budapest, OEITFL elected Mr. José García Gómez, Managing Director of the Spanish company Milafruit to be the President for the next 2 years. Mr. Garcia Gomez, who took over the position from Mr. Jean-Luc Heymans, Managing Director of Materne Confilux Belgium, is at present President of the Spanish association F.N.A.C.V. (Federación Nacional de Asociaciones de Conservas Vegetales ).

For the record: OEITFL is the Brussels-based trade association of the European fruit and vegetable processing industries, covering canned, frozen and dehydrated vegetables as well as canned Mediterranean fruit, fruit preserves and jams and compotes. Its member associations and companies come from France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Austria, United Kingdom, Hungary, Finland and Sweden.

Founded in 1959 - coinciding with the beginning of the European Economic Community - , the main goals of the Association are to promote common interests, represent the industry at European level, and to keep members informed about EU legislation and the main trends in the European and international market, and to provide a platform of exchange for its members.
